Haveli - A good range of Indian cuisine, well-spiced
I've eaten at a fair number of Indian restaurants in the St. Louis region, and when I find what I like, I pretty much stick with it. For many years, I went to one place (which shall remain nameless) with regularity. Then I went to Haveli. Now, Haveli is my main Indian "go-to" restaurant. I visit others, but Haveli's my favorite.

I like my food spicy. Not just hot, but well-spiced. Haveli's cuisine delivers with very tasty, savory, sweet, hot and aromatic dishes, both with animal protein and vegetarian. In the year or so that I've been eating there on a near-thrice-a-month basis, I've never had a dish that's disappointed me, and more than a couple that knocked me out, in a good way. One dish that's consistently great is the Chicken Tikka Masala, with a sauce that's vibrant and sweet. Other great dishes are the Navrotan Korma, Saag Paneer and the Chana Masala, which has a hint of cinnamon and tomato sweetness that other Chana Masala's seem to miss.

Haveli has a weekday buffet, which varies from day to day, but inevitably has the Chicken Tikka Masala, some saag dish, good naan, and more than a few good vegetarian dishes and a few chicken/fish/egg dishes. One day they had a Chili Fish that was powerfully hot, but so, so good, and I hope they bring it back more often.

While it is more expensive to eat at Haveli (and any Indian restaurant) when ordering off the menu after the buffet has closed, the experience is still simply amazing. I still have taste memory of the Aloo Gobi I ate there one night with my family.

I've visited some of the newer Indian places that have opened up in the St. Louis area, and there are still a few more I have yet to visit. So far, for atmosphere, all around good service and consistently great Indian food for meat eaters and vegetarians, Haveli is a must-visit. More than once.

Haveli in St. Louis is great
The food here is quite good. It ranks higher than the other Indian restaurants in St. Louis, which are also good. The owners and staff are great.
