Good Store and good bakery
Mayuri’s expansion from Restaurant to Grocery Store & Bakery has resulted in a dramatic improvement for the Desi consumers of Seattle & the Eastside (Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland etc.) Given the large desi contingent in the area, there have always been desi grocery stores all around – in Kent, in the U-District, even in the Pike Place market.

But by & large though, these places have been barely serviceable. At any of these places, you might find one set of products that were fresh and several others that were collecting dust & definitely long past their “use by” date. Which usually meant, at least for me anyway, that I would have to go to one store for fresh veggies and then another for my beloved Parle Gs!

Not anymore since the good folks at Mayuri stepped in and stepped it up! Hats off to you for raising the bar so high! And truly providing a “one stop shop”. Look at their website even – functional design that demonstrates that they are thinking about it, other than just buying a domain and effectively only adding to the “yellow pages” of the internet.

As for choices, products, pricing – I won’t go into too much detail. You should just go there yourself, if you haven’t already.

On a side note – the restaurant itself, I’m a bit indifferent to, as Spice Route has established itself as the leader in my humble opinion.
