What a difference a little competition makes! For years, Apna Bazar was the only grocery store available conveniently enough for all the Desi community both in Seattle & the Eastside.


Although it took a little while after Mayuri opened its doors, there was a drastic improvement in both the quality of Service & Products offered at Apna Bazar. In fact, I have now “switched” allegiances to Apna Bazar as a regular stop for many reasons including

· Broader selections in packaged goods, fresh vegetables, frozen dinners,
· Desi merchandise such as cooking tools & utensils,
· Movies


And Of course, competitive pricing! Admittedly, sometimes there are dramatic differences b/w offers at the 2 stores.

Beyond the product offerings – the parking options are much better than at Mayuri!


Their website could certainly be updated…. Glad they got rid of the “Exotic Meats” sign! J

Mayuri still has an advantage though, with its Bakery Store that serves as a gathering / socializing point.
